Allied Electronics & Automation Begins 2021 With Bold Plans for Expansion

According to a new press release, Allied Electronics & Automation has started the New Year by announcing several new additions to its portfolio of over 500 suppliers. Such additions included photocontrols and signaling devices from TORK, connectors from POLIARIS, tapes from WarriorWrap, visual equipment from E2S, industrial marketing products from DYKEM, and cleaners and degreasers from Nyco. This continues the trend Allied set in 2020, when it added over 50 new suppliers, over 10,000 product lines, and doubled the capacity of its distribution center in Fort Worth, Texas.

Digi-Key Launches New Video Series on Smart Agriculture

Digi-Key has launched a new video series focused on the many facets of smart agriculture, sponsored by Supplyframe and Amphenol RF. Called “Farm Different,” the three-part series focuses on the people, technology and challenges of modern agriculture. “We’re excited to share these important perspectives and insights from farmers, agtech designers and others involved in technology solving the challenges of modern agriculture,” said Robbie Paul, director of IoT business solutions for Digi-Key. “Agtech as a sector is set for explosive growth in 2021, and many Digi-Key customers and suppliers are on track to play pivotal roles in the innovation.” The first video can be viewed on the Digi-Key website here, while the next parts in the series will debut later in February and March, respectively.

Arrow and Avnet to Participate in the 2021 Goldman Sachs Technology and Internet Conference

Partstat partners Arrow and Avnet have both announced they will participate in the annual Goldman Sachs Technology and Internet Conference. Arrow Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Chris Stansbury will go first by presenting at 11:20 a.m. EST on Feb. 10, while Avnet CEO Phil Gallagher, Chief Financial Officer Tom Liguori, and Vice President, Treasury & Investor Relations Joe Burke will host a “virtual fireside chat” on Feb. 11 at 9:40 a.m. EST. Arrow’s presentation will be available to view at for two weeks after the presentation, and Avnet’s chat will be able to be viewed live on the IR section of its website.

Panasonic Industry Europe Names Future Electronics 2020 Distributor of the Year

Panasonic Industry Europe has awarded Future Electronics with its prestigious 2020 Distributor of the Year award. 2020 was considered a challenging year for the industry as a whole, but Future stood out to Panasonic for, according to a press release, “its efforts and spirit of collaboration in a virtual ceremony recognizing the efforts of its partners.” “I’m very happy to congratulate Future [Electronics] for this award. The key for success, first and foremost in this special year of 2020, is the good relationships that we have had for five years now,” said President of Panasonic Industry Europe Johannes Spatz. Far from resting on laurels, Future is continuing to foster such relationships; for example in a separate press release, Future also announced they will begin carrying Signify’s CertaMatch High Bay and Troffer systems for LED projects.
